Pentecost is a Christian Festival that tends to fall towards the end
of May or the beginning of June. It is often called 'The Birthday
of the Church' as it was on this day, that the Holy Spirit
empowered the early followers of Jesus with the courage and wisdom
to live and proclaim God's message of life and hope.
For many years, Christians in Merseyside have marked this event by
coming together in our two cathedrals and journeying between them as
a sign of our unity and our prayers for God's blessing on our region.
Sadly, this event cannot take place in 2020, but you can still take a virtual
journey between the two cathedrals by Clicking Here or
watching the video below
This website offers you a flavour of celebrations from other years and the message
that underlies them.
In 2019 we made that journey along Hope Street a journey of prayer. You
can follow our Journey of Hope pigrimage at any time by

Previous Pentecost Celebrations
Hope Street came alive with music and dancing as Christians from across Merseyside
joined with dancers actors and musicians to celebrate the festival of Pentecost.
Thanks to everyone involved in making this such a great occasion!
Our prayer remains that everyone in our region might know the peace and
presence of God through His Holy Spirit
